My name is Tracy Williams, and I have lived here in the beautiful province of Nova Scotia my entire life. I grew up in the town of Truro, but I have been living in the South Shore for thirteen years now with no plans to move anytime soon.

I graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I majored in History and obtained a double minor in Psychology and Theology. I had actually started my studies in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, and took courses in Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition and Community Health. However, after two years I become disillusioned with what I saw in the patients we were dealing with; they took no personal responsibility for their health, simply sat back and waited to see what treatment would be given to them. No one ever seem to ask, "What can I do to make this situation better?" It was always, "What will you do to make me better?"

I left university with my degree, and spent the next fourteen years raising two beautiful children and working in jobs that paid the bills but brought me no joy or satisfaction. At the same time, I watched friends and family members suffer with chronic, debilitating diseases like diabetes, hypertension, emphysema, obesity, arthritis, and gallstones. All of them seemed to believe that chronic illness and debilitation were an inevitable part of growing older. I wanted to show them that they are not. Many of the ailments we suffer as we age are a direct result of following the Standard American Diet, or SAD, and can be improved or even eliminated if we clean up our act. The desire to help others lead a healthier, happier life led me to obtain my Natural Nutrition diploma (RHN), from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Let me help you to help yourself.
